Data Analysis System (DAS)

Description

The Data Analysis System (DAS) is a software application that provides public access to survey data maintained by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The DAS allows users to produce tables and correlation matrices from NCES data sets, mainly postsecondary data. There is a separate DAS for each data set, but all have a consistent interface and command structure. The DAS includes the School Institution Survey (1988, 1993, 1999, and 2004) ; counts of faculty; faculty hires and departures; tenure of faculty; tenure policies; and retirement and other benefits of faculty. It also includes a university Department Chairperson Survey (1988 only), and Faculty surveys.
